Michael started drumming when he was just 6 years old having played on a drum kit whilst on holiday with his family. He wanted to start lessons straight away and had lessons with Wayne (back when ‘Thirst Music School‘ was called ‘DrumWorks‘) until the age of 16 when he gained a distinction at Grade 8. Along the way, he played in a few bands and eventually formed the band ‘Problematic‘ with some friends. Winning the Battle of the School Bands competition in 2016 led the band to play at Jersey Live and numerous other gigs at local music venues. Michael’s favourite styles are rock, metal and funk, taking inspiration from bands such as Muse, Karnivool, Royal Blood, Converge, Architects, Queens of the Stone Age and Arctic Monkeys. He also taught himself to play piano and has played at a local venue at Christmas time.
