After a fantastic evening of live music from some of Guernsey’s youngest bands, ‘Problematic’ from Elizabeth College were crowned the winners of our very first Battle of the School Bands event! The lively and extremely supportive audience were treated to 15 minute sets from each of the school bands who gave us a diverse range of musical styles. The winning band was judged by our panel of local music buffs: BBC Radio Guernsey’s Jenny Kendall-Tobias, Jon Bisson from ‘Sound’, Russ Fossey from the Guernsey Arts Commission and Chief Minister Jonathon Le Tocq.

‘Problematic’ wowed the audience with their versions of The Handler (Muse), Better Strangers (Royal Blood) and R U Mine (Arctic Monkeys). The threesome have won VIP tickets to Jersey Live (with the opportunity to play on the JT stage) courtesy of our sponsors, JT and £500 from Thirst Music School.0807-THIRSTBATTLEOFTHEBANDS2016
